Palmetto GBA awarded PDAC contract

On August 28, 2018 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded the Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding (PDAC) contract to Palmetto GBA. The PDAC contractor is responsible for providing suppliers and manufacturers with assistance in determining which Healthcare Common procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code should be used to describe Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) items for the purpose of billing Medicare.

Under this five year contract, Palmetto GBA will provide services in support of the DMEPOS benefit for the Durable Medical Equipment Contractors (DME MACS), Unified Program Integrity Contractors (UPICS) and other agencies. In addition to coding advice and guidance, Palmetto GBA will provide statistical analysis and reporting in addition to other functions. “We are very proud to be awarded this contract as it allows Palmetto to continue our partnership with the CMS and provide valuable services to suppliers,” said Joe Johnson, President of Palmetto GBA.
