Palmetto GBA achieves CMMI Maturity Level 4 appraisal

Palmetto GBA has achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 4 rating. CMMI is a globally-recognized set of best practices that enable organizations to improve performance, key capabilities, and critical business processes. A maturity level 4 appraisal indicates that Palmetto GBA demonstrates the ability to manage and quantitatively predict the performance of processes. This maturity level also enables Palmetto GBA to proactively identify potential corrective actions that may need to be taken.

“We are very proud to have achieved CMMI Level 4 as this further demonstrates Palmetto GBA’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement and innovation,” said Joe Johnson, President of Palmetto GBA.

The CMMI Institute is the global leader in advancement of best practices in people, process and technology. The CMMI models were developed by The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and industry and government representatives.

To receive a Maturity Level 4 assessment, Palmetto GBA had to demonstrate statistical and quantitative use of metrics, shift to proactive and predictive measures, and demonstrate upwards of 98% accuracy for productivity and quality. The achievement of CMMI level 4 is extremely difficult to obtain and only a small number of software development organizations achieve this distinction.
